Loryn Schlinker was born and raised on a third-generation dairy farm, Stakenas Farms Inc., located in Freesoil, Michigan – a town with more cows than people. There she was taught hard work and resilience from a young age. She was raised under the tutelage of three strong women, her mother, and grandmothers, all of whom showed Loryn that the path to success was through hard work, quick wit, a positive attitude, and the help of a strong community.
And while Loryn Schlinker did leave the farm, she hasn’t forgotten the work-ethic taught by her predecessors. Passionate and dedicated to the public services field, Loryn Schlinker started her career by assisting under-served clientele that could not otherwise afford legal representation.
Through working with numerous volunteer organizations, Every Woman’s Place, Grand Rapids Urban League, and Criminal Expungement workshops, to name a few, as well as interning at the Michigan House of Representatives, Loryn discovered the extraordinary challenges that individuals face when opposing their government, landlords, big business, and insurance companies.
Her practice areas include motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, dog bites, and premises liability.
Loryn is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Western Michigan – Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated in the top 1% of her graduating class. During her tenure at Cooley Law School, Loryn held the honor of Teacher’s Assistant and was awarded the Certificate of Merit Award for Academics in Criminal Law, Gaming Law, Environmental Law, and Property Law II.
Loryn is not only licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan. She is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, where she spends time-fighting for her clients’ rights to have their medical bills paid by the auto insurance carrier, where their auto insurance and health insurance policies conflict.
When Loryn isn’t fighting for the rights of her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, John Schlinker, and their Golden Retriever Rudy.
